News Oct 10, 07 |
Welcome to the joint Commun-IT.org and ECOO online conference community. This area has been set aside to help conference presenters and participants share ideas before, during, and (hopefully) long after the "face to face" activities in November. Feel free to share your thoughts or ideas, comments or questions about what you have seen, or just say "Hi" to the rest of the community. While you are here, feel free to explore the other communities already using Commun-IT to share and discuss ideas of interest to educators like you. |
Jim Carleton Oct 10, 07 | Thanks Tim. I am looking forward to the conference, to sharing great ideas with other like minded people and generating energy and enthusisam for integrating ICT into our curriculums. Jim |
Quentin D'Souza Oct 11, 07 | Hello All, I'm Quentin D'Souza and I work as an Academic ICT Resource Teacher with the TCDSB. I really like the idea of being able to communicate ideas before, during and after the conference, and this forum is a great way to do that. Thanks to ECOO for making it happen (and Tim of course) Quentin |
Shawn Allenby Oct 11, 07 | Hello All, I too am excited about the possibility of starting and continuing discussions long before and long after the conference has started. This really will enhance the conference and will allow for discourse around topics that will be presented at the conference. Well done ECOO and Tim!

Konrad Glogowski Oct 12, 07 | Hello, I'm Konrad Glogowski and I blog here at my blog of proximal development. I am a doctoral candiate at OISE/UT and a Language Arts teacher (grades 7 and 8). I will be presenting the following two sessions at the conference: TA01: Personal Learning Environments – Professional Development in a Networked World FA08: Networked Writing Communities: Using Blogs to Improve Writing Skills. I plan to use this community to post additional resources that I most likely will not have time to address during the presentations. I am really looking forward not only to presenting at the conference but also engaging in discussions on a variety of educational technology topics here in this community. Thanks ECOO and Commun-IT for providing this forum! - Konrad |
Geoff Day Oct 12, 07 | Hi, Thanks for setting this up. Will it be one area for all presenters or will there be smaller areas? I would like to drop a few thoughts here but don't want to mess things up! Geoff |
Tim Hawes Oct 12, 07 | Feel free to create new item ("threads") in this forum, or, if you think the topic might spawn a longer term "community" of interest, you can go into the "Your Network" tab and create a new community specifically for your area of interest. |
Geoff Day Oct 13, 07 | Thanks for the "method" Tim - do we know when registrants to the conference will be included in the general community? |

Lorraine Montgomery Oct 22, 07 | Hi all, This is a really neat idea. I hope there will be a lot of exchanging of ideas and posing of questions. I feel reluctant, almost a pretender being in here as I have no idea if enough people have signed up for my presentation for it to be a "go". I will still attend the conference either way but I'm a bit anxious to know one way or the other. I still have 'prep' to do along with report cards. I'm excited about the conference, though. |
Norma Bingham Oct 23, 07 | Hello All: I'm Norma Bingham. I currently teach Grade 3 in the Grand Erie District School Board. I will be helping Tim Pugh present a pre-conference workshop about collaborative learning. We are also scheduled to give an hour long presentation on Friday morning during the conference itself. Thank you, Tim, for setting this up! Tim P. and I look forward to the dialogue with you either online here or face-to-face during the conference.

Danuta Woloszynowicz Oct 23, 07 | Hi everyone, A lot of new ideas have been implemented this year at the ECOO Conference and I'm sure they will all make this event even better than before. I too, am anxious to find out if my session is a "go", but will attend the conference regardless. See you there:) |
Will McGarvey Oct 24, 07 | Hello! It is a pleasure to be a part of the ECOO Conference. Please visit us at our Shadowbox Learning Services' exhibit (503) for the opportunity to engage in LearnKey eLearning discussions with us. Attendees who visit us at the ECOO Conference will be offered a pick of any online course they wish to preview for a FREE 30-day trial! Your course selection may be from any one of our categories, for example: K-12; Safer Schools; desktop; IT certification, and soft skills to name a few.
