Hello and welcome to the video streaming blog.  What do you hope to learn from attending the session on using video streaming for learning?

We did a presentation at YorK U today on the effective use of video streaming for teaching, learning, professional development and outreach!  One faculty member who is using video to teach Italian studies suggested that education might benefit from its own version of YouTube.  What do you think?  And have you checked out TeacherTube.com?

Hi Janet.

I was just thinking that you may be interested in a video blog post Shawn put up a couple of weeks ago about the Diet and Body image VC that took place on the 19th. Specifically, students were able to post live video blogs as the major avenue for communicating about the  content and reflecting. (If I recall correctly there was aYork area school involved so you like were aware of the event). Shawn's video post is here: http://www.commun-it.org/community/sallenby/weblog/292.html

(If anyone is interested, Commun-IT has a built-in flash video player (similar to youtube). Video needs to be converted to flv format before you post it, but will play back smoothly with just the flash plugin. There are some more video samples and a brief how-to available as well.
