My congratulation to the ECOO conference committee for a great conference.  As with every year I leave with so many new ideas.  The IT guys at my board really don't like this time of year since they have to settle me down.

On another not, for those who sat in on my session for digital story telling I am hoping to get the slides up shortly.  I will also provide the links that I had during my session.  Thank you for your participation and feel free to ask any questions.

Keep up the good work ECOO.

After watching the videos and seeing it in action, I finally tried building my own Wii interactive white board. With a Wii remote and Johnny Chung Lee's programming I was able to put it all together. It really is that simple. Using the Blue Soleil BlueTooth software it took no time to get my computer to detect the Wii remote. The only difficulty I had was the infrared pen. Once I solved that problem, using some YouTube videos, I was up and running.
My first test was on the screen of my computer itself. The first tries seemed to have sensitivity problems. The pen did not seem to be precise enough. Those worries were put to rest with testing the Wii on a larger scale. What seemed to be an issue with the smaller screen was no problem at a larger level, were precision does not seem to be a problem.
I do however have to improve on the pen for regular use. With a solid pen that is easy to use this can become a good alternative to the expensive Interactive white boards on the market today.

Once again I am suppose to present a session at the ECOO conference.  Hope the numbers are there.  I have come to realize that I learn more about my topic as I prepare for the session.

Once again it is creating a classroom web site.  I have to admit there has been a lot of changes from the first time I offered this session.  The new Adobe Suite allows the user to do a lot and has made the maintenance of the site so much simpler.

What has made it truly fun to create websites for me is all the different things that can be added in.  Podcast, videos, pictures, blogs, wikis, and even SmartBoard recordings.  All of these tools can provide great resources for the students and their parents.

Websites have truly become functional.

Unfortunately my session at ECOO was cancelled due to registration.  Because of this and because technology is moving so fast I will continue to post and put some of the material I would have been using on this site.  If you want to participate please ask questions and I will gear the material and information towards them.  Just because the medium has changed does not mean the learning has to stop.  This site provides and excellent opportunity to continue the learning.  Thanks to does who took a chance and registered for my session.

If you do not already no about web 2, it is in essence the new way people are using the web and some of the new tools that are being developed.  One great tool and a quick and easy way to get acquainted with web 2 is to open a google account.  Once you have created your account (its free) you will have access to such tools as blogger, google docs, spreadsheets and presentation tools as well as gmail.  All of these tools will allow you to collaborate over the Internet and get you started with web 2 applications.

I am once again looking forward to the conference and my session.  Many things have changed since the first time I offered a web site creation workshop.  Hopefully I am keeping up with the times.  If participants have any questions to ask before the session, feel free to ask them.  Looking forward to another great conference.
