Jodie Baker

We, Jodie Baker and Jackie Campbell, are Secondary School Principals in the Avon Maitland District School Board. Jodie is at Mitchell District High School, a small rural high school serving the needs of 500 students in Mitchell and surrounding area. Jackie is at Listowel District S.S., a full service, rural high school located in Listowel and serving the needs of 1200 students. Both administrators were actively involved in Student Success initiatives prior to the Ministry focus on engaging learners from a multi-faceted approach.

After attending a workshop presented by Diane Kirkby-Grier from Upper Canada School D.S.B. regarding her 1st school-wide Certification Day at Gananoque S.S., we had the answers we needed to move ahead with our own ideas for a Certification Day .

Jodie provided certifications for every student in grades 10 - 12 at Mitchell D.H.S. Jackie provided certification opportunities to all Listowel D.S.S. grade 11 and 12 workplace and co-op education students.

We look forward to sharing our experience with you and are hoping that Diane Kirkby-Grier will be able to join us and add her Certification Day experiences to the discussion as well.
