I have created this community for teachers and system leaders to discuss, share and maintain the collegial spirit of technology integration that was such a part of the ECOO conference. My passion has always been to use technology to engage, motivate and facilitate my students, and now, as the Elementary Technology Consultant for the Ottawa Carleton District School Board, I am simply carrying on this passion to encompass my teaching colleagues. Please join in this community and share your success stories, your questions and your sense of excitement as we guide our students and colleagues along the Web 2.0 way.

 Got a fave?!!

Thanks,

Barb

I have uploaded the base files we are using in an e-portfolio workshop (folder is called e-portfolio workshop). Basically trying to generate some buzz surrounding a student-generated e-portfolio that promotes reflection and metacognition.

Ok, you will note that this not high-end stuff. That is the point. As a system leader, I am in the same sense of place that I was when I was in my classroom. Scaffold the emergent integrator, while providing differentiation for the resistant and the blossoming. Check out how many expectations I pulled out of the documents that can be met using e-portfolios. These can be used as a scavenger hunt activity.

After researching many sites (thanks all for your suggestions) I have set up a blogging site to use as an interactive activity in upcoming workshops.

http://bjmclaughlin.edublogs.org/

It is still a work in progress.

I did not find this a breeze to develop and still am trying to figure a simple way to instruct teachers on how to set up a class.

I'd love to hear of a 1-2-3 step process, or develop one. I know I have an uphill battle introducing blogging as the potentially explosive literacy tool it can be, and then getting busy, non-techie teachers on-line.

Any collaboration is MUCH appreciated.

Barb
