Consultant, Business and Learning Technologies, Secondary Level, Ottawa-Carleton District School Board
I am a teacher with about 25 years in the classroom, principally in French immersion and a variety of computer courses. I realize that this "cocktail" is somewhat unusual. I got into computers several years after completing my Master's degree (Paris VII) in geography where I carried out vegetation mapping using satellite imagery. No computers back then... all done with film negatives! Several years after returning to teaching, I was asked to teach remote sensing using software called Eoscape. I jumped at the opportunity and this lead to ArcView GIS, GPS use and Geomatics in general. My thirst for computers grew from this advent of high tech geography. I am now moving into the job as consultant for Business & Learning Technologies at the OCDSB.
